New Delhi [India], November 12 (ANI): Zoho Corporation co-founder Sridhar Vembu expressed confidence in its cloud-based software, such as Zoho Mail and Arattai Messenger, despite critics comparing them to Koo and Hike, which had to shut down their services.
Sridhar Vembu said that the critics are 'declaring game over in the first over' and remained resolute to 'last long enough and win.'
In an exclusive interview with ANI, the Zoho co-founder said, 'The only way to answer those critics is to last long enough and win. That's all. In other words, in these things, five years later, if it's doing well, ten years later, you're doing well. That's the answer,' he said.
'The game is not determined. This is like they are declaring the game over in the very first over. That's all. That's what they're doing in cricket analogy,' he added.
However, Zoho Corporation's messaging app Arattai has fallen out of India's top 100 apps on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Responding to this, Sridhar Vembu said that it is not a matter of concern, just a 'normal course' of events and assured that Zoho is here to stay.
'There's nothing going wrong. I think, first of all, the idea that something went wrong is what is wrong. It is a normal course of events. Nothing goes straight to the moon. You have to go through these ups and downs. And the trick for companies that survive is that they have a long-term view on this. In fact, I never thought the number one is anything big. In fact, I literally told our employees, This is a particular moment, it won't last. But we are here to, you know, it's not, it's five years, 10 years, 15 years trajectory for us,' he said.
Sridhar Vembu also shared details about the company's plans for the update on end-to-end encryption for all chats and media on Arattai.
'We'll have an update in a couple of days,' Sridhar Vembu said. He also added that the full backup support will arrive in two to four weeks.
'In another two weeks, we have an update because one thing about end-to-end encryption is that you have to have a backup. Otherwise, if you reinstall the app, you will lose all your chats. So you have to have backup. We are actually working on the backup,' he said
Zoho Corporation is an Indian multinational technology company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It offers multiple cloud-based software like Zoho Mail, Arattai Messenger, Zoho Sheet, Zoho CRM and many others. (ANI)
